Afghanistan: The Wounded Land (4Part Documentary)
Working on the four-part documentary series Afghanistan: The Wounded Land was a profoundly impactful experience, as the project traced the nation's journey from paradise to hell over 40 years through the eyes of those who shaped it. Stepping into the role of assistant producer at LOOKSfilm, my work was largely focused on laying the foundational groundwork and structuring the narrative for these complex stories.
The core responsibilities of my role included:
- Conducting in-depth historical research to anchor the series in factual realities.
- Developing detailed interview frameworks to help guide the conversations with the individuals sharing their unique points of view.
- Coordinating the intricate production logistics required to execute a multi-part documentary.
- Authoring the synopses and episode summaries to ensure a clear, cohesive narrative arc across all four parts.

Ishmael (Short Film Feature)
If there is one project that really pushed me as a storyteller and creator, it has to be Ishamel. This 20-minute short film is one of my most ambitious personal pieces to date, and a true highlight among the short feature film work I've been so lucky to be a part of.
I wore a few different hats on this one, stepping in to write, direct, and produce. Bringing the vision to life was a huge, beautiful challenge, made possible by an incredibly dedicated and talented crew of 40 people in Iran. Working with such a large team taught me so much about collaboration and breathing life into a shared vision.
The narrative itself is quite intense and emotional. It dives deep into complicated family dynamics and the heavy, lingering weight of long-kept secrets. At its core, Ishamel explores the profound hardships of being different and feeling like an outsider, a painful struggle that ultimately spirals into a gripping, emotional tale of revenge. It was an incredibly demanding story to tell, but seeing all of our hard work finally come together on the screen was one of the most rewarding experiences of my journey in film.
Other Short Films
Beyond my daily work in motion design, I’m a huge film lover at heart, a passion that really grew out of my time studying cinema. Whenever I get the chance, I love pouring my energy into personal passion projects, and two that I hold really close to my heart are my short films, Here But I'm Gone and I Put a Spell on You.
Working on these gave me the complete freedom to just dive into raw storytelling, away from any client briefs or commercial deadlines. Having both of these films selected to screen at festivals was such a surreal and rewarding experience. More than anything, these projects are a true reflection of why I fell in love with filmmaking in the first place, and they perfectly capture the joy of simply bringing a story to life.
